Summer Camps 2024

All camps will be held at our Main Avenue location off of Loveland-Madeira Road.

Please note that most camps will fill during discounted period (before April 2, 2024.)
Cancellation Policy: There is a $35 cancellation fee that will be charged for any cancellations. If you cancel two or more weeks in advance (before the camp your child is signed up for) you will receive a refund. If cancellation occurs less than two weeks prior to their camp, you will not receive a refund or a credit. If cancellation occurs less than two weeks prior due to illness or an emergency, you will receive a credit. Switching to a different camp with open spots is an option with a $15 fee. If you need to switch to a different camp, please, e-mail us at create@theartspark.com. 

Summer Camp Itinerary

Drive Thru & Junior Drive Thru
June 3-7

Ages 5-10 years
Let’s swing by the drive through and grab some food! Sparklers will work together to create a pretend drive through right in the studio! Will we need to sculpt food and build the outside of our restaurant? What types of cars will be driving through? Sparklers will paint, sculpt, draw and create a functioning drive through to play in on Friday!

Stationery Kits
June 3-7

Ages 9-12 years
Sparklers will work to craft, paint, and sculpt a beautiful stationery kit. We will use Sculpey to make custom pens, learn paper marbling techniques to make unique paper, and create handmade stamps to print beautiful designs on our stationery! By the end of the week we will mail out a real letter on our paper!


Superstars
June 3-7

Ages 6-10 years
Let’s put on the performance of a lifetime! Sparklers will first work on creating the perfect act to perform in our show. Will they want to sing? Dance? Do a magic trick? They will then determine all that is needed to create a perfect performance. What will we need? Microphones? Headsets? Costumes? Backdrops? A stage? We will work to paint, sculpt, draw, and create the best show this town has ever seen!

Dream House  and Junior Dream House

Ages 5-10 years
What would your house have if you could have anything you wanted? Fountains with chocolate milk? A bedroom that glowed in the dark? A basketball court? A swimming pool surrounded by waterslides? Sparklers will brainstorm and imagine what their dream home would include before painting, drawing, and sculpting a pretend house to play in right in our studio! 

 Amazing Architects!

Ages 6-10 years
Sparklers will imagine, design, draw, and sculpt their very own buildings in this architecture camp! Lead teacher and real-life architect Miss Karley will teach students a variety of techniques in architecture.

Wondrous Watercolors
June 10-14

Ages 9-12 years
There are so many amazing ways to create with watercolors! Sparklers will learn about dry times, wet on wet watercolors, using alcohol with watercolors, and resist techniques. There are so many beautiful ways to utilize this versatile material!

Wildlife Rescue & Junior Wildlife Rescue

Ages 5-10 years
Let’s spring from the theme Wildlife Rescue! Sparklers will brainstorm where they will be working to help save wildlife animals where they are in distress. Where will they be? In the arctic? On safari in Africa? Next, they will sculpt, paint, draw, build and create the animals and locations where they will work to save the animals and create a clinic to care for their furry friends! 

Squishmallow Mania
June 17-21

Ages 6-10 years 
Squishmallow mania is alive and well at The Art Spark! Let’s create 2 different new friends using different techniques in art. We will then build a miniature environment to play with our new squishy friends in! 

Storybooks

Ages 9-12 years
Sparklers will work to write their very own short stories. We will then learn different illustration techniques and create our books! We will read our books and display them on Friday!

A Grand Greenhouse & Junior Grand Greenhouse

Ages 3-5 years
Ages 5-10 years
Soil, water, sunshine, and seeds is all we need! Sparklers will plant some plants to care for in pots at the beginning of camp! We will then work to build a greenhouse in the studio. What will we need in our greenhouse? Watering cans? Painted pots? A butterfly garden? It’s up to the sparklers to decide! On Friday we will carefully tend to our garden.

Bead Bonanza

Ages 6-10 years 
Sparklers will learn a variety of ways to use beads in art! They will learn how to sculpt beads, paint beads, and also learn different techniques to make beaded animals! What all can beads be used for? Let’s put that question to the test as we create:  Jewelry, Coil Pots, Animals, and more!

Sew Awesome!

Ages 9-12 years
Sparklers will learn the basics of sewing to create 2-3 hand sewn projects. We will learn 3 different types of stitches and work to make functional pieces like pillows, purses, and stuffies.

Magical Lagoon & Junior Magical Lagoon

Let’s set sail for a magical lagoon! What will we find living in the lagoon where we dock our ship? Magical mermaids? Narwhals with rainbow powers? Pirates seeking golden treasure? Sparklers will paint, draw, sculpt and create a magical lagoon! *Please note this week is shortened for the holiday weekend. 

Tie-Dye Time!

Let’s learn different techniques in tie dye on some small pieces of fabric before applying our knowledge to some special handmade pieces like t-shirts! 

Clay Creations

There are so many things we can make out of clay! Sparklers will learn how to make texture tiles, clay slab cities, pinch pot animals, and brainstorm some clay creations of their choice!

Submarine Sea Explorers and Junior Submarine Sea Explorers

Ages 5-10 years 
Let’s build a submarine and dive deep down into the ocean! What will we find? Seashells and buried treasure? Octopi, stingrays, angler fish, and hammerhead sharks? How can we make our studio look like we are deep underwater? Sparklers will work to paint, draw, sculpt, and create an underwater world to play in on Friday!  

Wacky Art

Let’s try it all!   From shaving cream prints, to slime, to chalk marbling, to painting with cars, and foil transfers, let’s explore some of the wackiest ways that The Art Spark can create art!

Drawing and Painting!

We will draw and paint a still life, draw people and practice figure drawing, draw from our imagination, and practice drawing with a variety of different drawing tools. We will then display our pieces in a gallery on Friday.

Ring Power and Junior Ring Power

A box of gems holding more power than anything ever seen on this Earth was recently discovered inside The Art Spark. When these gems are worn, they unlock superpowers and transform regular people into real life superheroes! Sparklers will work to create superhero costumes and work together to build a city where they can fight crime! 

Clay Creations

Let’s slip, score, roll, pinch, and shape clay masterpieces! Sparklers will use clay to create unique art. We will work to learn techniques in creating pinch pots, clay slabs, and more! 

Professional Pinatas
July 15-19

Ages 9-12 years
Paper mache is an amazing art form which can lend itself to some unique 3D creations! For this camp we will draw, plan, and create custom pinatas! We will stuff them with candy and prizes and students will be able to decide their pinatas fate on the last day of camp. 🙂

Let’s Fly!  & Junior Let’s Fly

Sparklers will begin camp by building an airplane they can board to travel the world! Where will their plane take them to? Australia? India? Brazil? Portugal? We will work together to decide before painting, drawing, and sculpting elements from their
travel destination to explore and play in on Friday! Au Revoir! 

Puppet Show!

Let’s write a story and work to create amazing handmade puppets! We will paint, draw, sculpt and shape puppets to put on a wonderful Puppet Show Production on Friday! 

Techniques in Painting

Ages 9-12 years
Sparklers will learn and try a variety of painting techniques in this camp. Including painting with a palette knife, blending, splatter painting, painting with dots, and so much! We will display our work in a gallery on Friday!

Look Down Below! and Junior Look Down Below!

5-10 years 
Imagine we are in a hot air balloon floating up in the clouds and we look down below. What does the world look like? Sparklers will build miniature towns and landscapes to play in and explore. What all do we see from up in the clouds? A waterpark? A ski resort? Neighborhoods? Streets with cars? Helicopters? Sparklers will paint, draw, sculpt and create a miniature world with hot air balloons hanging up in the clouds! 

Animal Art
July 29-Aug 2
1-4 PM 
Ages 6-10 years
Sparklers will work to create animal art in different ways each day. We may sculpt clay animals one day, and paint watercolor animals the next! We will brainstorm and list the ways we are most interested in creating before deciding what we will make each day. By Friday, our studio will look like a ZOO with all these animals! 

Fairy Gardens

Ages 9-12 years
Let’s imagine different types of Fairy Gardens! Is it a magical garden filled with fairies, rainbows, and sunshine? Or a Fairy Garden in the winter? Or a Fairy Garden during Halloween?  Each student will have the opportunity to customize, paint, draw, sculpt and create many different elements to a unique and special Fairy Garden.

Enchanted Forest and Junior Enchanted Forest

Ages 3-5 years
Ages 5-10 years 
Just past the babbling brook and the willow tree is a magical place that has yet to be seen! Sparklers will close their eyes and imagine what they would find in an enchanted forest. Who lives there? Fairies, gnomes, unicorns, mermaids, dragons, and narwhals? Sparklers will work to paint, draw, sculpt, and create an enchanted forest to explore and play in! 

Movie Makers
Aug 5-9
1-4 PM 
Ages 6-10 years 
Lights, camera, action! Sparklers will learn what it takes to write a truly remarkable script, story, and plot. They will then get to work building the set, learning their lines, and crafting their costumes. By the end of the week we will have an amazing movie to show our grownups! 

Art Gallery

Sparklers will work on a number of different techniques in art in this camp. They will create a canvas painting, coil pot, and practice drawing people! They will then choose a project or two to pursue in their own way for the rest of the camp.

Space Explorers and Junior Space Explorers

Ages 5-10 years 
Let’s take a cruise through the planets, galaxies, and stars aboard a spaceship! What do people wear when they live in space? What do they do for fun on their spaceship? What does it look like inside? Are there control panels? Funky fashion? Are they friends with aliens? Sparklers will draw, paint, sculpt and create what life would be like when living on a spaceship! 

Mysterious Treasure
Aug 12-16

Ages 6-10 years 
Long ago, The Art Spark was home to some real golden treasure.  Recently, the treasure has been stolen and a string of clues have been left to help us solve the case! This bandit will send us on a wild chase and we will act as detectives to locate where the gold now is! What gear will we need? Laptops? Binoculars? Suspect Drawings? Maps? Fake gold to lure the thief? It’s up to the Sparklers to solve the case!

Creative Crafts

Let’s learn a variety of crafting techniques! Making stamped signs, beaded bowls, weaving, and so much more!
