Look over there! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a pattern! In this camp, Junior Sparklers will act as the lead detectives in a quest to find and make colorful and quirky patterns. Each day will begin with a hidden pattern in nature and it will be their job to find it. These patterns may be hidden in a zebra’s stripes, a peacock’s feathers, a flower’s petals, or honeycomb in a bee’s nest. Junior Sparklers will be asked questions as they explore these patterns: What colors do you see? How many stripes are there? What type of shapes can you find? After completing their investigation of the day, Junior Sparklers will then make their own special patterns using a wide variety of art materials. One day, we may be using fuzzy pom poms to make patterned caterpillars and another we may paint a night sky with patterns made from sparkling stars!
